Week 1 – Resources

I have been exploring through Scootle alot this week and it has been opening my eyes to what resources are available online to use with students to incorporate ICT in my teaching practices. Belinda has listed some great apps and programs that are available as well.

I thought I would start a list of some ICT resources that I find beneficial to a classroom. I have been inspired to do this after reading tanyalsinden blog “Apps for Learning Difficulties”.
As I find new resources I will be posting them to my blog as well as to Diigo.
In previous professional experiences, and teacher aiding I have used some of the following ICT resources – these are suitable for special schools, units, and younger grades:

iPad Educational Apps – some are paid:

  • Reading Eggs
  • Eggy 250
  • Word World
  • Lola’s Math!
  • Ewe Can Count
  • Articulation
  • Gazzili Science
  • Agnitus

iBooks – some are paid:

  • Stories
  • Playtales
  • Social Stories

Apps for students with Autism or Intellectual Impairments – some are paid:

  • Autism Help
  • Auslan Tutor (RIDBC)
  • Sight words 1
  • Sight words 2
