Week Two – Classrooms of the future

As I start on my research for Assignment 1, I am analysing and compiling information about the usage of ICT in teaching practices. Not only are there benefits to students and teaching within the learning environment such as developing ICT skills, access to vast information, exploring new programs, networking sites and the list goes on. But we have to look ahead into the future and how our pedagogy in the classroom is going to set students up with the life long skills they need for the future, Amanda Ford making some very valid points in regards to this. This being said, the world is changing and transforming so fast we don’t really know exactly what it is that our students will need to acquire to be equipped for employment that have not even been established yet. Reading through some articles, I found on featured in The Guardian describes our classroom of the future and why ICT is transforming education. Keeping all this in mind, it is very clear that ICT is the way of the future and as teachers we need to constantly keep ourselves updated with ICT knowledge and skills, utilise this in everyday practices and revert this in our teaching to students.
